Christchurch's new One NZ Stadium opens this week, and we're quietly proud of the role our crew played in getting it there.

Over the past 10 months, Oak Tree provided the labour hire team for Alloyfold's seat installation contract: 25,000 permanent seats, 18km of metal framing, and a project that at its peak had around 20 people moving through the team.What made this project meaningful wasn't just the scale of it. It was who was doing the work.

Our crew included people who had barriers to employment. For some of them, this was their first sustained period of employment. They showed up, learned on the job, and helped deliver one of the most significant infrastructure projects Christchurch has seen in years.

Stuff journalist Paddy Gower covered the story ahead of opening weekend, speaking with the team about what the project involved and what it meant. It's a good read.
